no silence for gun violence

No silence for Gun violence is an anti-murder campaign, in development,  to promote the strengthening of those who are impacted by murder or gun violence, rather primarily or indirectly.  This anti-murder violence campaign will promote the combating of murder as well as the public health issue of gun violence; while bringing people together with like minds and hearts, to see healing in their communities.  The core hub for the campaing is located in Saginaw, Michigan and has its roots therein. The target population for this campaign are those ages 10-34 years of age.

The Gun Violence Archive (an online archive of gun violence incidents) has collected from over 7,500  law enforcement, media, government and commercial sources daily in an effort to provide near-real time data about the results of gun violence (see gunviolencearchive.org/ for more information).  While nearly every type of gun violence spiked in 2020, mass shootings showed a particularly steep increase. In spite of the social isolation during the pandemic, the number of shootings with four or more victims exceeded any recent year by more than 50 percent.  An example of a mass shooting would be what recently occurred in Saginaw, MI on June 24, 2023, an experience which caused 2 deaths and over 10 others wounded.

In 2022, gun deaths were at 20,200 with 643 mass shootings.  This year so far there have been 9,273 gun violence incidents, 331 mass shootings and 25 mass murders, across the nation.

healing our land

The psychology of violence asserts that all forms of violence and aggression are interconnected.  Hence, our notion is, the process of healing will constitute applying solutions to interconnected aspects of the individual.  For example, if a violent individual experiences healing in his or her mind and emotions, relevant to them being violent, then they will have different outcomes such as becoming non-violent.  Healing is the extent of an individual’s continuing physical, emotional, mental, and social ability to cope with his or her environment.  This means that health is a resource to support an individual’s function in wider society, rather than an end in itself.

Make a change

While, yet embracing the power forces of media and music for the betterment of one’s social, physical, emotional and mental health." We are prompting an “anti-gun violence-campaign” called "No Silence For Gun Violence" which will highlight the impact of murder & gun violence and its impact on Saginaw, MI and others across this nation. Our goal is to draw connections and correlations between murder,  gun violence and some of the accompanying devastations, such as funeral experiences, increased poverty, broken homes, deteriorating mental health of victims and/or their loved ones, etc. It is time to make a change!!!!!!
